I know we took a trip to Burlington to a fair one time in his car.  He had two horses.  Nice car.  Dad:  Buggy.  GM:  Buggy.  Yes buggy.  And coming home the horses got scared and ran away with us.  They tore themselves loose from the car and threw us out.  Ha Ha.  Dad:  Tore themselves loose from the buggy.  GM:  Thats the kind of wrecks people used to have.  I kind of hurt my head.  Not awful bad.  We were kind of close to a place where they fixed things you know.  You know.  Dad:  A repair shop for buggys or something.  GM:  Yes something like that.  So we had to had something fixed so we had to stay overnight.  So I stayed upstairs in a house.  And I remember the peoples name is Crandel.  Dad:  That was in Burlington.  GM:  Aham.  As far as I know that was it.  Burlington Kansas.

And then another time we was out riding and the horses got scared and ran off with us and tore loose.  Threw us out.  We always got thrown out, Ha Ha.  Dad:  Goodness sakes.  Buggies were dangerous wern't they.  Laughs!!  What happened that time.  GM:  They just saw something and got scared and started running.  Dad:  Did you get hurt?  GM:  Oh well we got hurt a little bit but not awful bad.  Dad:  Did the buggy turn over?  GM:  I don't remember but any way the horses tore thereselves loose.  There was some damage.  I didn't pay too much attention to that.  He always tended to that.  He had two horses.  One named Maud and one named Molly.  And he always thought Molly was the one that got scared and started off.  On the other hand, I think that Maud was awfully high spirited too.  Dad:  Those horses you still had when you got married wasn't it.  GM:  Aham.  Dad:  I think I remember.  Ruth:  Maud was the one that was still a nice horse when you lived in Oklahoma.  GM:  No, Molly.  But he went and sold Maud.  I was awful put out about that kindly because he was up town with that horse.  That's Maud.  The man came out and said what will you take for that horse.  The horse was cutting up you know kind of like a colt.  He said what will you take for that.  He said $35.  Right off the rail.  The man said I'll take her.  Now that's the way he.  That's the kind of business man he was.  He could have got $75 just as easy.  If that man wanted that horse.  But.

But.  Oh well then he bought an old horse that he called Lizzy I think.  Dad:  I remember Lizy too.  GM:  Well thats the one we had when come down to Oklahoma.  Dad:  I remember riding to town to Yates Center with Lizzy.  GM:  Yes.  Well and then when.  I think we just got one horse and I think we finally sold Lizzy.  And just had Molly when we came to Enid didn't we.  Or did we sell both of them before we came to Enid.  Dad:  Well I think when you came to Logan Co you had two.  GM:  Yes we had two there but didn't....   Dad:  We didn't bring any to Enid.  GM:   When we come to Enid, he had sold them all off.

Do you remember Mrs Smith.  Pastor Smiths daughter, Ruby?  Dad:  Yes I remember.  GM:  He used to kid you.  Talk about Molly how she acted much like a colt you know.  Oh she was a beauty.
