Dad:  Lets back up a little bit.  Now is there any thing you can remember particularly about life there on the farm in Yates Center after you had married before you moved to Oklahoma.  GM:  In Yates Center.  Dad:  Aha.  I can remember you and I going to town with Lizzy and the buggy.  GM:  Oh you do.  Dad:  Yes.  I can remember that just as nice as can be.  GM:  Well Papa had a small 40 acre farm.  Dad:  That was before Mabel was born.  GM:  I remember when you was just a little bitty boy, that your Grandpa, He was kinda always a thinking you ought to be learning your ABC's or you ought to be going to school.  You wasn't school age yet.  And he just always worried about you not going to school.  Or starting to learn or something.  So they had a school right north there, a country school and I tried to get you to ride with a man that went past there.  You didn't want to at all.  I don't think you ever did it.  But just to please you Grandpa I tried to get you to.  Dad:  I think I can faintly remember that.  GM:  You do.  Dad:  I think I can.  GM:  Any it was awful disgusting for me to try to get you to go to school just to please your Grandpa.  But I guess he really thought you ought to be learning something.  And you must have been awfully young then.  Dad:  Yes I was under four I believe.  GM:  You must have been.  It must have been before Mabel was born.

You remember when your Grandma Davidson died.  Dad:  Yes.  GM:  You remember anything about me making those cute little crosses and things to leave at her grave.  Dad:  No I can't remember.  GM:  You know we couldn't go to her funeral because she had died of Diptheria.  Dad:  And Mabel was a baby wasn't she.  GM:  And I couldn't go to the funeral.  Dad:  Now lets see.  I was trying to think of something else and it kind of slipped my mind.  But, Oh well anyway go ahead if there is anything else that you can think of during the time that you lived there in Yates Center.  GM:  Well we went to the Presbyterian Church up there.  And you and Mabel both was babtized or sprinkled.  Christened I guess you would call it.  Now people just don't call that baptized here like they did then.  Anyway at the Presberterian Church up there.  I still think you ought to be baptized by emersion.  That is the way so many do it these days.
