Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Ingredients

  • 0.75 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 0.25 cup molasses
  • 0.5 teaspoon cloves
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.75 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons ginger
  • 2.25 cups flour

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Cream together the butter, sugar, and egg in a large bowl. Stir in the molasses, cloves, salt, cinnamon, baking soda, and ginger. Stir in the flour until well combined. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls. Roll each ball in 2 tablespoons sugar.

Place the cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 9-10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are golden brown. Let cool on the cookie sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
