Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, cream together the shortening, molasses and sugar. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Add the wheat germ, dry milk, flour, baking powder and salt, mixing until just combined. Fold in the walnuts.
Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan and bake for 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Mom is a great cook and very loving with her brownies and egg salad sandwiches, pork roasts...the list goes on and on. And, she keeps us all so healthy.
